Training Classes . . .

Florida Statutes require specific training for persons working with individuals with developmental disabilities. These courses are: Introduction to Developmental Disabilities, Health and Safety, and Zero Tolerance for abuse, neglect and exploitation. Other requirements are these one hour courses: Individual Rights and Choice, Incident Reporting and Core Assurances.

ARC of Indian River County has trainers certified by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities to teach these courses. The courses are held monthly at our Vero Beach facility. These three (3) longer courses are called Core Competency courses and require four to six hours each. Upon successful completion of each course a certificate is awarded. These certifications are necessary in order to work with people with developmental disabilities. The three (3) longer Core Classes are $20.00 per course. The one-hour courses are $10.00 each and every course includes training materials.
