ATTENTION ALL BUSINESS...
It’s Job-A-Palooza!
2023 date to be announced at a later date
*The Arc West Campus* 2455 5th Street SW *Vero Beach, 32962*
Job-A-Palooza is a concept developed to involve a broader cross section of the community in employing persons with disabilities. This program is funded by Florida Vocational Rehabilitation through a contract with The Arc of Florida.
Program Overview:
This program has been designed to help individuals learn a job skill and prepare them for the workforce. We need 10 - 15 business, 30 - 50 peer mentors and 30 - 50 students to kick off this much needed program. Businesses will set up job related tasks, and Mentors and Students will rotate through and master each of 5 tasks or skills.
Businesses are recruited to come to the event and evaluate students and
their peer mentors performing a task.
Examples: Grocery store ~ might have groceries that need to be bagged in the proper way.
Restaurant ~ might have silverware that needs to rolled.
Car wash ~ dirty vehicles that need to be detailed.
¨ The store and restaurant would be evaluated on speed, whereas the car wash would be judged on quality.
¨ Each business will assist in developing the task analysis for their “task” so that no steps are left out.
*As a business, it costs nothing to participate and you can help enrich the lives of so many*
