Gifts can be made in multiple ways, i.e., Memorials, Cash, Appreciated Stocks, Planned Gifts Insurance, Trusts and Wills, Charitable Gift Annuities, Appreciated Stock or Other Properties.
Planned Giving Your support over the years has meant a lot to individuals with special needs; please consider continuing that support after you pass. There are many simple ways to include The Arc of Indian River County in your will or trust in your planned giving. When considering changes to your estate plan, we encourage you to consult your attorney and/or financial advisor for information on these types of planned gifts. Memorials We accept donations given in honor, or in memory of an individual or organization. We provide notice and recognition, as well as acknowledgement to the donor. Remembrance can be in the form of designations or unrestricted gifts.
Appreciated Stock or Other Property Giving appreciated assets allows you to avoid capital gains tax on appreciated portion if you had sold the asset. In most cases, you will be entitled to deduct the full fair market value, assuming the asset had been held long term.
Insurance We accept gifts of life insurance – existing or new policies. Transferring ownership of an existing policy and making The Arc of IRC the owner/beneficiary provides an income tax deduction. Premiums still being paid are deductible also.
